Wall-based Wire Work

My wall-based wire sculptures are drawings made in steel. Each piece traces a figure, portrait, object or still life in a continuous line of powder-coated steel wire, so the form is described as much by the empty space inside the line as by the wire itself. Light passing through the work casts a second drawing in shadow on the wall behind it.

The series ranges from intimate portraits to compositions over three feet tall, including my ongoing Folded Figure Compositions. Works are organized by year below, from my newest pieces back to my earliest wall work. If you’d like something similar made for your own space, visit my Commissions page.
